Well I've arranged to visit my home town (Durham for those who don't know) next week.

This will involve seeing my Dad for the first time since he chucked me out in 1990. Also my brother who I don't really know that well as an adult and his daughter who is now ten, who I've never met at all.

So all told a possible interesting few days to come. I'm not expecting too much out of this, but I thought it was about time I put in the effort!

I'm also hoping to visit the Newcastle night life, so any good suggestions on places to go on a Thursday or Friday up north would be much appreciated!

Other than that helping with the house move to Walkley on Saturday and I'll see those as are going, there or at Kelly's party.

Well done for making the move - my sister's in a similar situation but keeps putting it off. Hope it goes well after all this time!

Well you live and learn! Seriously we all spend time with each other and talk about what the band's like, what the beer is like and who IS that girl/boy/?? in that outfit over there!

I mean beyond your other half I've no idea about your family. Now this isn't a bad thing and doesn't make us less freinds, becasue I value you & R very much, but sitting down and discussing the lifetime traumas and roads not taken aren't usually top of the list when you're getting to know people are they?. I actually sometimes think people know too much about me so I've tended to reveal less these days.

Am I right or wrong on this? I don't know. Maybe LJ gives us a chance to be more honest up front? Should we be doing this in our face to face social life? (i'm talking a more general 'our' here)?

Any Thoughts anyone?

I'm not sure that 'honest' is the right word ... I think it's just that, as you say, a lot of our conversations are very context-based. If LJ widens that up a bit ... well then, LJ is probably doing something useful !

Still, you and I should take a night out sometime to sit in a pub and froth about life in general. I bet it'd by worth it :)
