Having a fairly chilled evening, long walk with the work walking group along the Tay near Dunkeld, lovely spot.
So the rest of th enight was just pottering around BBC4, E4 and Radio 2.
BBC 4 was Herb Alpert & then the Carpenters, Herb was just great, very 60s with lost of "groovy chicks" in the background, you might not recognise the name, but th emusic will be somewhere in your past. The Carpenters was cheesy, but done with such style you've ot to love it.
Radio 2 is doing a series on the second half of the 20th century, a bit like the old "Rock & Roll Years" TV show, no narration, just music and news clips an hour for a year. Tonight was 1958, again just great music, elvis being drafted. and after that Dave Pearce playing eoighties dance. Now I'm not into house or dance music, but his is just such an uplifting show, great music some of it a little familier, some not at all. A wrold away from the Carpenters but so bloody what, why not mix it up?
