A memory - of now
Dec. 14th, 2014 09:05 amToday, I woke up after a day recovering from the night before.
I lay in bed in a clean, dry room and listened to a Doctor Who story on CD, one I hadn't heard before, I was entertained and moved listening to the voice of an actress no longer with us playing her character from 40 years before. Eventually I got up, breakfast, coffee, internet. A normal morning.
A normal morning. The sky lightens, the dawn fades. I laze a little on a Sunday. This is a privilege I know, to enjoy this quiet moment in time. I have things to do today, but not yet.
I spend my life hoping for a normal morning when I don't feel I have to strain to make the day work, when the bedroom and living room are comfortable and not too warm or cold. It could be tidier, there could be someone to share this sofa with. But for this moment I just enjoy and remember the gifts life has given me today.
