Bit of an update I'm not sure what I've said recently and can't be arsed to go look to be honest.
Dad had been in residential care for a few years and had been ill recently. He'd needed to move to a new care home so I went down last weekend to see a couple of homes and went up to hospital to see him.
He was old tired and weak but we had a conversation and understood with ease what the situation was. At the end he asked "can I go back to sleep now" his last words to the family. I can live with that and maybe even translate that to him deciding he didn't want to move homes again and was ready for the big sleep.
He was a miserable old bugger for as long as I knew him, but he'd lost a lot and given up much on the death of my mum to look after his three sons (age 5 to 15). so for those sacrifices he was due at least my respect.
RIP Bill
Thanks to all here and on FB. A hard week for me. The job search goes on hold till later in the year, but hopefully I'll be in Sheffield and will see some of you when I get down.
