At home & sober
Aug. 23rd, 2004 05:55 pmWell after a week of emotional ups and downs and too much to drink I'm back at work & back on track.
An interesting time was had. My father didn't recognise me at first and even when he did had nothing to say. I'm unsure whether it just took him by surprise (He saw me before my brother had a chance to warn him) or if he has lost it. He's 82 and looking very frail and confused.
It's an experience to hear my own dad ask 'Is that Neil?'. Anyway meeting my neice was fun she was very bouncy.
So I've come home a little older and wiser, but the one thing I have got out of this is that the decision I made to move to Sheffield and live my own life when he chucked me out was the right one. It's not always you get that sort of validation is it?
Looking forward to getting back to life as usual in Sheffield.
See you all soon.
LOL
