Solstice

So there we go, that's the holiday, back to normal tomorrow!

Well in fact I have two weeks off and for some reason all the shops and things shut on Wednesday, no idea why.

So shortest day, traditionally my most hated day of the year and today started out feeling seasonally blergh.  But I'd arranged to meet L & R from Scottish Bi Network for brunch, so I got washed and left the house.  As usual company does me good and L & R are lovely.  They are so newly involved in one respect, but they've gone to Bicon just decided to set up a network in Scotland. It's amazing what you can start by just saying who you are and making some noise.

They keep on trying yp get me out of myself and engage and offering me lifts and transport and asking me to stuff.

So that was lovely, even if the pub wasn't doing brunch, so I had x-mas platter  instead.

Winter solstice is a hard time for me too. I'm always glad to have got through it, and I'm in cushier more southerly climes than you! I've managed some small token plea/gratitude to the Sun God, and a fuck you to commercialisation by triumphantly donating a big pile of massively useful things to an organisation looking after our local homeless and vulnerable to help them survive this awful cold damp weather, and pointedly not even trying to do presents for people who don't need anything anyway. Health is shit so ignoring the rest of the seasonal shenanigans has been necessary anyway.

But awesome enthusiastically supportive people for the win, and well done Scottish Bi Network <3. I hope this week isn't too rough for you sweetie. Fight the FOMO, and do what you need to do to be ok, pressure to do the 'expected' and overwhelming is bullshit (I'm trying to take my own advice on that too :-/).
