Late summer's afternoon at the beach.

Apologies for longer diary type posts, but I do forget what I actually did and without anyone in person to actually share with, it has to go here.
Well I spent the morning on Sunday doing the kitchen. My life would be easier if I got the concept of cleaning up as I went along, rather than binge cleaning. Actually that's true of anything I do.
Anyway moving on.
So I decided that as the temperature is only going to drop after this weekend and I may be going to Glasgow next weekend, I'd better make the most of the sun and find a "local" beach. I had considered going to see a band in Dundee as well, but the website was closed and I couldn't find box office details (in the end they posted tickets on the door, but after I'd left home - I think I need the smart phone)
Anyway train to Dundee, quick potter round the shops, realise I'd only bought one book with me, buy second emergency book, realise I had a second book anyway so I now have three books!
SO bus out to Broughty Ferry. Now Broughty Ferry is still inside the Firth of Tay, so although there is a beach and it's tidal, the water is mostly river water. It's not what you'd call touristy, just a stretch of beach with a small castle a park and an ice cream van. That said the beach is flat and sandy and feels enough like the seaside to pass. SO I had a pleasant couple of hours reading, watching a guy do his ice bucket challenge. Of course the minute I decided to head back into Dundee, the clouds parted and the sun came out properly(!)
So I had a bit of time and went to the Contemporary Arts Centre (DCA) and had a beer and some supper.
I am feeling caught up with myself again now and still have a Bank Holiday Monday off.
